I'm currently studying toward my Master of Arts in French at Middlebury College. I've already completed my Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College at Columbia University. I've been fortunate in that I was able to study for a year at the Sorbonne. I have four years of experience as a bilingual tutor (English and French). I take pride in being very patient with my students, most of whom are high school or college age. However, I also work with younger learners as well, and I find that they are a particular joy to teach! My experience also includes dealing with pupils who have special needs, such as ESL students. In my writing work for two publishing firms as well as the State Department, I have come to appreciate the importance of clear and concise communication. I know that all the learners I come in contact with process information in their own way, which means that I need to be flexible in my own approach in order to reach them. I can tutor students in French, ESL/ELL, Reading, Writing, Essay Writing, Phonics, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, Test Prep, AP French Language and Culture, and more. I'm located in New York City and find that it is a great environment for my hobby of film photography. I also like to read, and I attend yoga classes often.
